A story is told about a man who dreamed he was at the end of his life. He saw his life as if it were a walk along the beach with Jesus. He looked back over his life and he saw two sets of footprints in the sand along most of the way. One set belonged to him, the other to Jesus. He noticed, though, that many times along the path of his life. There was only one set of footprints in the sand. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of his life. This really bothered the man and he questioned the Lord about it. Lord, you said that you would never leave me nor forsake me. You said that once I decided to follow you, you’d walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most difficult times in my life there was only one set of footprints. I don’t understand. When I needed you the most. Why you would leave me? Jesus, replied my son. I want you to know that I love you and that I would never leave you. Look again at those footprints, during your times of trouble and suffering. The footprints you saw were mine. I was carrying you. We can be certain that when we are going through difficult times of life, God is always with us, never doubt his presence. Even though you can’t feel him or see him at the time, he keeps his word. Hebrews 13:5, never will I leave you, never will I forsake you. Follow God today and know that he is carrying you along your difficult path. God bless you, Captain Ken Chapman.
